Bauchi Don Close Public And Private Schools Because Of Insecurity

Bauchi State Government don announce say all primary, secondary, and higher institutions for di state go close because of rising insecurity for North. Ministry of Education spokesperson, Jalaludeen Usman, talk say di closure affect state, private, and federal schools with immediate effect. After plenty consultations and because of security wahala wey dey threaten students, teachers, and school communities, government decide to temporarily shut di schools. Usman add say government sabi say di closure fit cause inconvenience, but protecting children na top moral responsibility. E call on parents, guardians, school owners, and stakeholders make dem no panic, but remain calm and cooperate as government dey work with security agencies to make sure schools go reopen once e safe.

Di Bauchi closure follow similar orders wey Yobe, Taraba, Plateau, and Kwara don give because of rising insecurity and recent abduction of students and churchgoers. Kebbi State also close all public and private schools after gunmen attack Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School for Maga, abduct 24 students on November 17, 2025. For Niger State, attackers raid St Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary School, Papiri, abducting about 303 schoolchildren and 12 teachers on November 21. Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education issue circular signed by Deputy Director ICT Hajia Hauwa Muhammad on behalf of Commissioner, ordering all schools to suspend academic activities until further notice to protect students, teachers, and administrators. Plateau State Government still reassure residents say di closure na proactive safety measure because of security threats, including kidnapping of students for neighbouring states.
