For Lagos yesterday, gas stations still dey sell between ₦1,200 and ₦1,400 per kg. For Gasland, Igando for Ikotun area, and Mac Rich gas plant for Cele-Okota, one kg go for ₦1,200, while other stations dey sell am for ₦1,300 or ₦1,400 depending on di area. Some gas plant workers wey no wan make dem mention dia name talk say, “Last month we dey sell ₦900 to ₦950, but now na ₦1,200 per kg. For phone interview, di outgoing President of Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers, Mr. Olatunbosun Oladapo, blame di high price on backlog of unsupplied gas, refinery maintenance, and logistics wahala. But he talk say hope still dey as Seplat Energy gas enter market and Dangote Refinery increase production. He believe say with new gas infrastructure investment, price go soon stabilize. For di association 38th AGM, Oladapo talk say Nigeria’s LPG consumption don rise from 900,000 metric tonnes for 2021 to 2 million metric tonnes for 2025 and fit reach 3 million by next year’s first quarter.
