Court Order DNA Test For Mohbad Pikin After Him Papa File Application

One Magistrate Court sitting for Ikorodu, Lagos State, don order say make dem do DNA test for Liam Aloba, the pikin of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, wey people sabi as Mohbad. The order come on Tuesday from Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga after e hear application wey Mohbad papa, Joseph Aloba, file. The papa go court say him wan clear the matter whether na true say na Mohbad born the pikin. According to wetin the court talk, the DNA test must happen for certified and well-known hospital, either for Nigeria or abroad. Court document show say the application fall under Order 8 Rules 1 and 8 of Family Court of Lagos State (Civil Procedure) 2012, and Order 9 Rules 8 and 9 of Magistrate Courts (Civil Procedure) Rules 2009. Dem list Mohbad wife, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, as the respondent.

The court also give order say Chief Medical Officer or Pathologist for Military Hospital, Yaba where dem preserve the remains of the late Nigerian singer to release tissue, hair, or any other sample needed for the DNA test. For e submission, counsel to Joseph Aloba, Augustine Adegbemi of Dr. Wahab Shittu (SAN) & Co, talk say dem need to confirm paternity well because e concern the welfare of the pikin and the maintenance obligation matter for the mama. Mohbad wife no oppose the application, as her lawyer Kabir Akingbolu no raise any objection, so the court approve the order without any wahala. The magistrate come give specific instruction say: “Make dem do two (2) DNA tests for recognised hospital, one for Nigeria and one for outside Nigeria. And make both parties or their representatives dey present when dem dey collect the sample.” The court adjourn the matter go November 11, 2025, for more hearing.
