FEC don approve over ₦43bn for Lagos–Ibadan Expressway Phase II, Section II, plus dem don revise and award new federal highway projects across Nigeria. Works Minister, Dave Umahi, yarn reporters say di fresh approval go cover extra works wey include flyovers, underpasses, ramps, concrete pavement, and adjoining roads wey no dey di earlier phases. Di project wey dem first award five years ago never start, but when Mr. President come, FEC terminate di old contract and re-award am for ₦43bn. Dem also review Mushin–NNPC Junction–Apapa–Oshodi Expressway dualisation, originally awarded for ₦11bn in 2022, now revised to ₦19.09bn to reflect inflation and rising construction costs.
FEC also approve di third section of Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway (162.97km) for ₦3.39bn per kilometre, and break Ilorin–Omu Aran–Egba Road (206.7km) into phases with Phase I at ₦43bn. Di Enugu–Onitsha Road (OP Junction–Ukehe–Okatu–Abu Udi–Oji–Anambra border) get Phase I (35.1km) valued at ₦28.47bn, with ₦21bn already disbursed. FEC review progress on East–West Road for Rivers State, while Ota–Idiroko Road (14km) cost rise from ₦43bn to ₦98bn due to rigid pavement and underground water, plus flyover go from ₦17bn to ₦23bn. Dem also approve at ₦30.23bn, and Ijebu Igbo–Etapa– Phase II (42km) Wasasa–Turunku–Mararaba Road Owoyen Road now ₦53bn for 37km. Minister Umahi yarn say di cost adjustments na because of better designs, tough terrain, and inflation, while Edo, Delta, and Abia governors don take over some roads to reduce federal burden.
