Di theme na “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future.” Sanwo-Olu, wey Barrister Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, di Secretary to di State Government represent, talk say agric na di backbone of Nigeria economy — e dey help people survive, push innovation and support better life. E add say di World Food Day na reminder say everybody get role to play to strengthen Lagos food system and fight hunger and malnutrition.

Sanwo-Olu talk say di theme of dis year celebration show say everybody, government, private sector, NGOs, and communities,  must join hand to change how we produce food, chop better, and protect di environment. E talk say Lagos get unique challenge, as di smallest state in land but with over 22 million people, so dem need bold ideas, heavy investment and strong partnership to feed di people. E remind say di state launch Five-Year Agric Roadmap in 2021, to boost food self-sufficiency from 20% to 40% by 2025, and since then, plenty projects don land to help farmers and youth, stop waste after harvest and link them to market. Abisola Olusanya, Commissioner for Agric, still add say di state don invest big into agric and protect land for farming.
