Lagos State Government don confirm say dem still dey solidly behind girl-child matter, as dem pledge to continue support programmes wey go help girls dream, lead and succeed. Special Adviser to di Governor on Health, Dr. Kemi Ogunyemi, yarn dis one on Saturday for event wey dem do to mark di 2025 International Day of di Girl Child for Dansol High School, Agidingbi, Ikeja. She no show for di event but send her Senior Special Assistant, Dr. Oluwatoni Adeyemi, go represent her. Ogunyemi talk say Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration dey committed to create better environment wey go help girls reach dia full potential. She talk say di theme for this year,  “Empowering di 21st-Century Girl”, match government vision to raise bold, healthy and educated girls wey go fit drive social and economic change.

She talk say any girl wey sabi her body and dey practice better hygiene go fit make correct decisions about her future and well-being. According to her, health no be just say you no sick, e cover body, mind and social well-being, and she remind dem say, “your health na your power.” She advise girls make dem love themselves, value dia worth, avoid exploitation, and aim to become leaders wey dey promote fairness and inclusion. Di event convener, Adejumoke Ladejobi, talk say every girl get value and purpose, and everybody,  both individual and nation, get role to play for building equal society. She encourage girls make dem embrace self-awareness and confidence. Di Chairperson of Police Officers’ Wives Association, Risqat Jimoh, add say real girl empowerment start with health, education and security. She talk say, “No girl suppose miss school because of period. Her dream and education no suppose stop because of stigma or lack of resources.”
