Lagos don launch big five‑day workshop called Maternal and Neonatal Mortality Reduction Innovation Initiative (MAMII) Activation Workshop to try stop di yawa wey dey kill pregnant women and babies. Di workshop don start Monday for Protea Hotel, Alausa. Dem government, Federal Ministry of Health and development partners gather to make one strong, data‑driven plan to kill preventable deaths for everywhere inside di state. Di Health Commissioner, Prof Akin Abayomi, talk say Lagos dey suffer maternal & infant mortality, say dem go find root cause and remove all di barriers to give better care. He also mention say Lagos plenty resources but because many people dey move into Lagos and population full ground, dis matter don serious.

Part of di strategy be say Gov Sanwo‑Olu don sign executive order to make health insurance compulsory for everybody. Dem go upgrade 47 out of 327 PHCs this year, build new University of Medicine & Health Sciences wey go produce 3,000 health staff per year within five years. Dr Kemi Ogunyemi talk say Lagos dey 3rd in maternal & infant death ranking for country, wey no good at all. Dem also plan decentralisation into six health districts, better nutrition, stronger data system under T.H.E.M.E.S+ agenda. Di goal be reduce maternal mortality by 30 percent and increase facility deliveries by 60 percent by 2030. Dis initiative go help frontline health workers, improve newborn care, digital training and push for accountability – all so no woman go die giving life again.
