Lagos Go Start $3bn Green Line From Marina To Lekki By December

Lagos State government don talk say construction of di $3 billion Green Line rail project wey go connect Marina to Lekki corridor go start December 2025. Di Transportation Commissioner, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, yan dis one for official Lagos government X page Monday. Dem don do plenty feasibility studies and talk with stakeholders along Lekki-Epe corridor ready for di project. Di rail go take two to three years, and dem go build am for phases. First phase na from Lekki First Tollgate reach Epe, second phase go start from Marina and e go dey on water.

Di Green Line na 70-kilometre rail wey go get 17 stations, e go start from Marina, pass Victoria Island, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Ajah, Sangotedo, and end for Lekki Free Zone. Stations go get modern design like pedestrian bridges, elevators, escalators, and depot near Sangotedo plus 15-hectare parking for Lekki Free Zone. Train go carry 35,000 passengers per hour, speed reach 100 km/h, and train go get eight cars. Di government also clear wetland and encroachment for Lekki-Epe Expressway for di project right-of-way. China Harbour Engineering Company don sign agreement to design, finance, and operate di rail. Some experts talk say station spacing fit affect ridership and eight-car train fit no be enough for future demand.
