Lagos Pikin Dem Dey Compete For Inter-School Challenge

Pikin dem from different public primary schools for Lagos West jam for Methodist Primary School Hall, Oshodi, to compete for second stage of Sweet Thinkers Top 200 Academic Excellence Competition. Di contest test dem for Mathematics, English Language, and General Knowledge as part of plan wey wan promote better school work and make pikin dem like quality education again. Di organisers talk say di project dey follow Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and na way to improve how public school pikin dem dey do for academics. Earlier for July, over 2,000 students from 20 local government areas join di first stage of the scholarship competition.

Fumilayo Akinshola from Sweet Thinkers talk say di competition don bring hope back for both pikin and teachers, as pikin dem dey always look forward to di exams. One pikin, Oluwadarasimi Alimi from Central Primary School, Oshodi, happy say e qualify for next stage and promise to study more. Sweet Thinkers make sure say di contest fair, no school get chance to sabi di question before time, so everybody prepare well. Di competition still dey go on for Lagos Island and Maryland, and 20 finalists from each zone go compete for third stage before di big finale early next year.
