Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, wey lead di enforcement team talk say some people dey reclaim river parts and dey build illegal structures to sell to people wey no know. Wahab yan say dis kind action dey spoil environment and na big reason why flooding dey happen for di area. Illegal reclamation block important drainage systems like Systems 156 and 157 wey dey carry rainwater go lagoon, Wahab warn say Lagos no fit stop flooding comot but fit reduce am if dem protect natural drainage well.

Government still dey restore Right of Way for Ikota River for Oral Estate II where dem don remove 17 houses wey block road. Wahab and Transportation Commissioner, Seun Osiyemi, inspect di area together, plus dem give warning to auto dealers wey dey extend beyond dia approved places under high-tension power lines and block wetlands wey fit spoil Lagos Green Rail Line plan.
