Police Nab 18 People as Hoodlums Hijack Protest for Lagos

On Thursday, protesters storm popular Tejuosho Market for Lagos, say no light don dey kill their business. According to people wey see wetin happen, di protest start well but later turn to problem as police allegedly fire tear gas to scatter di crowd. But on Friday, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos Command, Babaseyi Oluseyi, come release statement say dem don arrest 18 suspects wey dey involved for di violence. “Our officers successfully scatter di hoodlums and miscreants, and we arrest eighteen (18) of dem wey dey cause violence and problems for Tejuosho Market,” di statement talk. “Police joint team quickly bring peace back to di market, and traders plus customers continue their business without fear.”

Di police talk say di 18 people wey dem arrest still dey under investigation, and dem go continue to look for more people wey follow cause di problem. Dem promise say all di suspects go face court after investigation finish. Oluseyi also talk say na Police Mobile Force officers dey guide commercial bank for inside di market when hoodlums try attack dem, but di officers hold ground well and no gree make dem enter. “Further news show say di hoodlums also try invade Market Police Post but dem no succeed,” Oluseyi add. Once police hear di kasala don burst, Commissioner of Police for Lagos, Olohundare Jimoh, sharply send more police officers, regular policemen and tactical squads go the scene. Oluseyi assure Lagos people, business owners, and others say everywhere don calm and under control. He still repeat wetin di CP talk say any kain violent attack against police or destruction of property no go dey tolerated at all. He beg Lagos residents make dem dey respect police officers wey dey do their job to protect lives and property. “Make we all work together for peace,” Oluseyi talk.
