Clean Water Supply: Lagos Wan Concession 7 Mini and Micro Waterworks

Lagos State Government don show plan to concession seven mini and micro waterworks to private investors as part of effort to improve clean water supply under their 2025–2030 Strategic Business Plan. Managing Director of LWC, Engr. Mukhtaar Tijani, announce di plan during stakeholder meeting, talk say only six out of di 48 mini and micro waterworks for di state dey work well now, dis show say dem need quick reform. “This plan go bring private sector money, skill, and new ideas to bring Lagos water supply back to life after many years of neglect,” Tijani explain.

LWC make am clear say dis no be privatisation because di state government go still own di waterworks. Na only management and operation go dey handled by private people to make service better and efficient. Tijani talk say di bidding process go follow Lagos State Public Procurement Law of 2012 well well to make sure everything transparent and accountable. He also assure say job security go still dey for LWC workers and encourage dem to take advantage of training and better work methods. “If dis pilot scheme work well, dem go repair more waterworks step by step to give millions of Lagos people better access to clean water,” Tijani conclude.
