Di Lagos State Government don set target to recruit 250 indigenes for di ongoing 90 Regular Recruits Intake (RRI) of di Nigerian Army. Secretary to di State Government (SSG), Mrs Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, yarn dis one for Ikeja as she beg local council chairmen make dem mobilise residents to join di recruitment wey she call noble and honourable service to di nation. She talk say di council chairmen na number one citizens for dia area and dem suppose fit gather indigenes, advocate and sensitise di people. According to her, many Lagosians no dey see military as serious profession, and na why Lagos don dey shortchanged both by Federal Government and by dia own people. She describe di armed forces as “a glorious job,” and beg parents make dem encourage dia pikin to join military instead of only pursuing career like law or office work. “For Lagos, we too love enjoyment,” she talk. “But for North, dem sabi say power no fit stand without strong security.”
