Court Don Warn Lagos CP Moshood – No Dey Declare Sowore Wanted

Federal High Court for Lagos don issue serious warning to Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Jimoh Moshood, after dem hear say e still dey boast publicly say activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, “still dey wanted.” Di Lagos CP Moshood continue dey talk am despite say court don already restrain am from any kind action like dat. Di warning show for fundamental rights enforcement case wey Sowore file against di Police Commissioner and other respondents, wey dey under Fundamental Rights Enforcement Procedure Rules. Court yarn say di police suppose file dia defence within five days, but up till resumed hearing on Friday, dem never file any response even two days after di deadline don pass.

One police lawyer, Cyril Ejiofor, come court beg for extra time, but Sowore lawyer, Tope Temokun, oppose am, talk say di police dey show pattern of disregard for law by no filing defence and still dey threaten Sowore against court earlier order from November 5. Court yarn say dis kind behaviour dey challenge dia authority and fit get serious consequence if dem no obey. Police lawyer promise say di Commissioner go stop all threats and no go arrest, intimidate, or declare Sowore wanted until di matter finish. Court reaffirm earlier order, restrain di CP from declaring Sowore wanted again, and adjourn case to November 24, 2025. Temokun yarn say dem go continue dey insist on strict respect for constitutional rights, add say rights no be charity, na equality under law.
