Mushin People Hail Road Project but Complain Say E Dey Cause Small Wahala

Residents of Mushin don commend their Local Council Chairman, Haruna Olatunbosun Haruwe, for the ongoing road construction project near Olosa bus stop, wey dey involve demolition of part of some buildings to allow road expansion. According to the engineer in charge of the project, Mr. Bankole, the new road go get interlocking tiles, streetlights and covered drainage. He talk say residents don already dey informed before work start, and dem even show them how many metres dem go enter inside their compound. One pharmacist, Kunle Olayemi, wey him building dey affected, talk say him no worry because the road go add value to property for the area. “E affect me, but e no matter because when dem finish am, the road go wide, dem go put street lights, and value of property go rise,” he talk. He still explain say na people wey build close to the road na dem really suffer pass. “When I dey build my three-storey building, I shift back well-well so if dem break my fence, e no go touch the building,” he add.

But even though many residents support the project, some still dey lament say the construction dey cause temporary hardship. One trader, Oluwayemisi Alarape, admit say sales don drop but she still dey support the project because she believe say the benefit go pass the current inconvenience. “Government suppose do am sharp-sharp make we enjoy am,” she beg. Another trader Jay Peters join voice say make people endure the hardship. “If you dey talk today, wetin go happen tomorrow? E go better,” he talk. Despite the wahala, residents agree say the long-term benefit of the road project go better the whole community.
