Schools Reopen For Oyo State As Teachers End One-Month Strike

Public schools for Oyo State don reopen today after di Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) announce on Wednesday say dem don suspend di one-month strike.

As dem suspend di strike, NUT Presido, Titus Amba, say di decision come after di union hold talks with di government and also consider say plenty children don stay house for several weeks because of di kidnapping incident.

Di union bin direct all public primary and secondary school teachers for di state to begin strike on June 1 to protest say government and security agencies no act fast enough to rescue teachers and pupils wey kidnappers carry from three schools for Oriire Local Government Area on May 15, 2026.

According to NUT, di strike na to pressure government make dem step up efforts to rescue di  kidnapped teachers and school children.
