FAAN Say Uber, Bolt No Ban For Nigerian Airports

Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, don clarify say e no impose blanket ban on Uber, Bolt and other e-hailing services for Nigerian airport, as e say di ongoing engagement with operator na to protect passenger safety and ensure orderly airport operation.

FAAN make di clarification on Thursday in a statement signed by dia management, following report and public criticism over restriction on e-hailing service at some airports, including Murtala Muhammed International Airport for Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport for Abuja.

 

Di authority explain say airport na highly regulated environment, so commercial transport provider must operate under arrangement wey allow FAAN to properly identify and monitor dia vehicle and driver for security reason.

 

FAAN say di policy no dey aimed at stopping passenger from using e-hailing service or undermining Uber and Bolt, but na to make sure say transport operator are identifiable, accountable and properly integrated into airport security and operational systems.
