Anybody Wey Assault VIO No Go Escape Punishment – Lagos Government

Lagos State Ministry of Transportation don talk say dem no go allow the people wey assault Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) for Mile 2, as dem dey carry out dia lawful duty, go scot-free. Dem say serious punishment go follow the attack. The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, talk dis one for one statement wey e release on Thursday for Lagos.

According to him, “We hear with serious vex say some VIO officers chop serious assault for Mile 2 while dem dey do their lawful duties. Dis kain wicked and heartless attack no just pain us, e be big insult to the Lagos State Government itself”. Osiyemi continue say, “Dis kain thing no go ever go unpunished”. He talk say the VIO officials na properly trained and legally approved agents of the state, and dem get the serious responsibility to protect lives through road safety enforcement. He add say to raise hand against these officers na serious crime wey mean say person dey try scatter law and order, and e dey disrespect the very institutions wey suppose protect everybody for society. “The people wey do this kain shameful act go face full punishment for law. We go find dem, arrest dem and dem go face full weight of justice”, he talk. He come thank God say the VIO officers wey dem injure dey respond to treatment, but he still talk say that one no mean say the matter don reduce in any way. “This attack serious well-well, and Lagos Government no go rest until we bring the people behind am to justice,” Osiyemi talk. He still talk say the government stand strong behind the officers wey dem wound, and he assure all transport officials say Government no go ever joke with their safety or dignity. He end by repeating say the Ministry go continue to protect all dia staff and make sure say no criminal go fit intimidate or stop dem from doing dia legal work.
